加入「 As High As 」行列的卡

現在有更多卡加入「 As High As 」行列了，例如近期加入的 Delta 系列，以及之前的 Blue Cash 系列。有個好消息是，這類「 As High As 」的最低檔與官網優惠一樣，而最高檔又很接近限時獎賞，大家可以試一下，也不算太差。

關於「 As High As 」

今天微信群組有讀者跟我們分享了一種 AMEX 新的迎新獎賞。申請頁面寫着「 As High As 」175,000 點迎新獎賞，而且下面還特別註明：

  • 提交申請後會告訴你這個優惠實際是多少
  • 然後你再選擇是否接受這個優惠
  • 達到開卡消費要求
  • 獲得你的獎勵

問題的關鍵其實是：你看到的是最高 175,000 點，但填完申請後，給你的獎勵未必有那麼高。具體條款如下 

After you submit your application and before you accept the Card (if you are approved) , we will tell you the exact amount of Membership Rewards® Points which you are eligible to earn, which will be an amount as high as 175,000 points. This means that you may be eligible to earn less than 175,000 points with this offer. You can earn these points after you spend $8,000 (the "Threshold Amount") or more in eligible purchases on your Platinum Card® from American Express within the first 6 months of Card Membership starting from the date your account is opened. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on a Card Account. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include: fees or interest charges; purchases of travelers checks; purchases or reloading of prepaid cards; purchases of gift cards; person-to-person payments; or purchases of other cash equivalents. Points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account within 8-12 weeks after you meet the Threshold Amount. Your Card Account must not be canceled or past due at the time of fulfillment of any offers.

讀者群裏有位讀者看到的是 175,000 點，但申請完成後發現自己的優惠只有 80,000 點。不過好在 AMEX 只對你進行了 soft pull，這個查詢只有你自己看得到，並不會影響你的信用分數。如果你不喜歡它給你的優惠，直接取消即可。

目前看來，似乎由邀請連結產生的連結有這個特性，不知道會不會逐步推廣到 AMEX 的所有連結。

所以重要的事情說三次：

背後的邏輯

首先對 AMEX 來說，這種做法是給出一個獎勵上限，而不是明確的迎新獎賞金額，等於增加了自己的操作空間。因為對信用卡申請連結來說，優惠頁面寫多少，最後通常就應該拿多少；這樣比較不容易出問題，也不容易被用戶投訴。

之前 AMEX 會在條款上寫明不能拿到迎新獎賞的各種條件，例如同類產品只能拿一次獎勵的限制 

You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card, the Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Charles Schwab, the Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Morgan Stanley or previous versions of these Cards. You also may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer based on various factors, such as your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors. If you are not eligible for a welcome offer, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application.

現在出了這種最高 175,000 點的獎勵，它在判斷你不符合迎新獎賞資格後，直接給你一個沒有獎勵的優惠，你也沒甚麼好說。至少這樣申請頁面和結果頁面是統一的。而且，AMEX 甚至可以根據你過往的消費水平、申請數量，來判斷是否值得給你較高的優惠。如果我是 AMEX，我就會設計一個規則：

  • 之前沒申請過 AMEX 卡的：給 175,000 點獎勵
  • 申請過 AMEX 卡，而且一直在使用的：150,000 點獎勵
  • 申請過 AMEX 卡，純粹為了迎新獎賞的：80,000 點
  • 申請過 AMEX 卡，經常要挽留優惠，年費一到就關卡的：不給獎勵！

另外，對於發放優惠的人來說，反正頁面寫着 175,000 點，看起來很高，我也很樂意發給朋友申請。至於能不能看到最高獎勵，那就看你的運氣了。

我的評價

以前 AMEX 一直採用瀏覽器 Cookie 來判斷你是否為新用戶，所以就催生了大家用瀏覽器私隱模式去刷高優惠。之後 AMEX 也把 IP 地址因素考慮進去，所以又催生了大家掛 VPN，切換到新的城市或新的國家去刷。其實這樣去篩選用戶的可靠性是比較低的。現在這種因人而異的差異化做法，反而更有助 AMEX 正確篩選高質素用戶，並配對更好的優惠去吸引他們申請。

不過對我們用戶來說，由於申請時填了 SSN，AMEX 基本上已經把你的底細摸清楚了；給你較差的優惠，你也無處申訴。畢竟它寫的只是最高獎勵而已。就像在店裏看到折扣一樣，up to 90% discount，但大部分商品其實都沒有那麼高的折扣。

如何破解「 As High As 」

其實跟 AMEX 彈窗一樣，AMEX 都是希望你多用它家的卡，多做一些正常消費，才會給你較好的優惠。如果你每張卡都只是拿個迎新獎賞，之後就不刷，等到年費來了就關卡，那 AMEX 當然會覺得你是低價值用戶，不會給你好優惠。如果你想拿到較高的優惠，那就只能多刷卡了。

另外，網友也發現，如果多試幾次，然後過一兩個月再試，「 As High As 」顯示出來的獎勵可能會提高。由於 AMEX 不算真正申請，就不會有 hard pull，等於可以零損失測試，也是可以考慮的。

還有一種方法，就是用瀏覽器私隱模式反覆刷官網連結或邀請連結，有可能從「 As High As 」跳回普通優惠；當然，也有可能刷到更高，亦有可能一直刷出更低的優惠。
