加入「 As High As 」方案的卡

現在有更多卡加入「 As High As 」行列了，例如近期加入的 Delta 系列，以及之前的 Blue Cash 系列。有個好消息是，這類「 As High As 」的最低檔和官網優惠一樣，而最高檔又很接近限時獎勵，大家可以試試看，其實不算太差。

關於「 As High As 」

今天微信群的讀者跟我們分享了一種 AMEX 新的開卡獎勵。申請頁面寫著「 As High As 」 175,000 點開卡獎勵，而且下方還特別註明

  • 申請完成後，會告訴你這個優惠到底是多少
  • 你再決定是否接受這個優惠
  • 完成開卡消費門檻
  • 拿到你的獎勵

問題的關鍵其實是：你看到的是最高 175,000 點，但填完申請後，給你的獎勵不一定有那麼高。具體條款如下 

After you submit your application and before you accept the Card (if you are approved) , we will tell you the exact amount of Membership Rewards® Points which you are eligible to earn, which will be an amount as high as 175,000 points. This means that you may be eligible to earn less than 175,000 points with this offer. You can earn these points after you spend $8,000 (the "Threshold Amount") or more in eligible purchases on your Platinum Card® from American Express within the first 6 months of Card Membership starting from the date your account is opened. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on a Card Account. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include: fees or interest charges; purchases of travelers checks; purchases or reloading of prepaid cards; purchases of gift cards; person-to-person payments; or purchases of other cash equivalents. Points will be credited to your Membership Rewards account within 8-12 weeks after you meet the Threshold Amount. Your Card Account must not be canceled or past due at the time of fulfillment of any offers.

讀者群裡有位讀者一開始看到是 175,000 點，但申請完成後發現自己拿到的優惠只有 80,000 點。不過還好，AMEX 只對你進行了 soft pull，這個查詢只有你自己看得到，不會影響你的信用分數。如果你不喜歡系統給你的這個優惠，直接取消就可以了。

目前看起來，似乎是邀請連結產生的連結有這個特性，不知道之後會不會逐步擴大到 AMEX 所有連結。

所以重要的事情說三次

背後的邏輯

首先對 AMEX 來說，改成先給一個獎勵上限，而不是直接給固定的開卡獎勵金額，等於增加了自己的操作空間。因為一般信用卡申請連結上寫多少優惠，最後通常就會拿到多少，這樣比較不容易出問題，也比較不會被用戶投訴。

以前 AMEX 會在條款裡寫上不能拿到開卡獎勵的各種條件，例如同類產品只能拿一次獎勵的限制 

You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card, the Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Charles Schwab, the Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Morgan Stanley or previous versions of these Cards. You also may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer based on various factors, such as your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors. If you are not eligible for a welcome offer, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application.

現在有了這種最高 175,000 點的獎勵後，它在判斷你不符合開卡獎勵資格時，直接給你一個沒有獎勵的優惠，你也很難說什麼。至少這樣開卡頁面和結果頁面是統一的。而且，AMEX 甚至可以根據你過去的消費水準、申請數量，來判斷值不值得給你更高的優惠。如果我是 AMEX，我可能會設計一套規則

  • 以前沒申請過 AMEX 卡的：給 175,000 點獎勵
  • 申請過 AMEX 卡，而且一直有在使用的：給 150,000 點獎勵
  • 申請過 AMEX 卡，純粹只是為了開卡獎勵的：給 80,000 點
  • 申請過 AMEX 卡，天天要挽留優惠、年費一到就關卡的：不給獎勵！

另外，對於分享優惠的人來說，反正頁面寫著 175,000 點，看起來很高，我也很樂意分享給朋友申請。至於最後能不能看到最高獎勵，那就看你的運氣了。

我的評價

以前 AMEX 一直用瀏覽器 Cookie 來判斷你是不是新用戶，所以才催生出大家用瀏覽器無痕模式去刷高額優惠。後來 AMEX 也開始考慮 IP 位址因素，於是又出現大家掛 VPN ，切到新的城市或新的國家去刷優惠。其實這種方式在篩選用戶可靠性上，準確度並不高。現在這種「看人下菜碟」的差異化做法，反而更能幫 AMEX 篩出高品質用戶，再配對更好的優惠去吸引他們申請。

不過對我們用戶來說，因為申請時填了 SSN，AMEX 其實已經把你的底細摸得差不多了；如果給你比較差的優惠，你也沒什麼地方可以申訴。畢竟它寫的只是最高獎勵。這就像店裡標示 up to 90% discount，但大部分商品其實都沒有那麼高的折扣。

如何破解「 As High As 」

其實跟 AMEX 彈窗一樣，AMEX 都是希望你多用它家的卡、多做一些正常消費，才會給你比較好的優惠。如果你每張卡都只是拿完開卡獎勵就不刷，等年費一來就關卡，那 AMEX 當然會覺得你是低價值用戶，不會給你好優惠。如果你想拿到更高的優惠，那恐怕只能多刷卡了。

另外，網友也發現，如果多試幾次，然後過一兩個月再試，「 As High As 」顯示出來的獎勵有可能會提高。由於 AMEX 這種情況不算真正送出申請，就不會有 hard pull，等於可以零損失測試，也是值得考慮的。

還有一種辦法，就是用瀏覽器無痕模式猛刷官網連結或邀請連結，有可能從「 As High As 」跳回一般優惠。當然，也有可能刷到更高的 offer，也有可能一直刷出更低的優惠。
