About Capital One Lounge
Airport lounges are exclusive spaces inside airports that typically require some type of membership for access. Some lounges also offer day passes to travelers willing to pay a one-time fee. Airport lounges provide more comfortable seating, unique amenities, and a pleasant space away from the noise and crowds of the terminal.
At the end of 2021, Capital One opened its first proprietary Capital One Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Nearly two years later, the second Capital One Lounge opened at Washington Dulles (IAD) on September 7, 2023. Two months after that, the third Capital One Lounge opened at Denver International Airport (DEN) on November 3. Now the fourth Capital One Lounge is about to open at Washington National Airport (DCA).
The location is shown below.
Access Requirements
The easiest way to access a Capital One lounge is by carrying the Venture X credit card or being an authorized user. The rules are as follows:
- Capital One Venture X or Capital One Venture X Business cardholders get unlimited access and may bring up to two additional guests per visit; beyond that, it costs $45 per person
- Capital One authorized users receive the same lounge benefits as the primary cardholder
- If you have Capital One Venture or Capital One Spark Miles for Business, you get two lounge passes per year; additional visits cost $45 per person per visit
- If you do not have one of the Capital One credit cards above, walk-in access costs $65 per person per visit
- Children under age 2 traveling with the cardholder can enter for free
In addition, you need a boarding pass for a same-day departing flight or a connecting flight within 3 hours.
Upon arrival, you can gain entry by showing your relevant Capital One credit card (if you have one) and a boarding pass for a same-day departing or connecting flight up to three hours before departure.
Honestly, the value on the Capital One Venture X is exceptionally strong.
Capital One Venture X Credit Card

However, the newly opened DCA lounge has a new rule: if you do not have an eligible card, access costs $90.
Additional guests, as well as those with a Capital One Spark Miles for Business or Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, pay $45 per person, per visit. Everyone else pays $90 — except kids under 2 traveling with cardholders, who can enter at no additional cost.
Checking Information and Reservations
In the Capital One app, you can check the following:
If the lounge is full, the app will show that it is “very busy,” and you will need to join the waitlist. It is a good idea to join in advance so you do not get shut out later.
