About Capital One Cafes

Capital One Lounges have been getting a lot of attention lately. These lounges are currently located in three airports, with more on the way. Capital One Lounges are known for their sleek, modern atmosphere and strong amenities. To access them, you generally need the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card or the Capital One Venture X Business credit card.

Outside the airport, Capital One has also been expanding another concept: Capital One Cafes. These coffee shops have been popping up in busy business districts and shopping centers around the United States. A Capital One Cafe is part coffee shop, part bank branch, with cardholder perks, workspace, ATMs, and more. Visitors can also use free Wi-Fi, order coffee and tea drinks, and relax or work in a comfortable setting. Unlike airport lounges, the cafes are open to everyone, but if you are a Capital One cardholder, you can get 50% off handcrafted beverages.

Locations and Hours

There are quite a few of these cafes, with locations in many states. In total, there are 55 across the US. If you happen to be nearby, they are worth checking out.

At a glance, California has the most locations, and Texas has quite a few as well.

You can search locations on the Capital One website to learn more about Capital One Cafes in your area. Since these cafes range from standalone city locations to spots inside shopping malls, hours vary by location. Some mall cafes do not open until 10 AM, while the downtown Los Angeles cafe is open from 7 AM to 6 PM.

Features

These cafes have ATMs, food and drink service, meeting rooms, and free Wi-Fi, making them a good place to take a break. They also have restrooms, which is an extra plus for people stopping by with kids.

The cafes offer reservable rooms. Capital One cardholders can book smaller workspaces, while students and community groups can reserve larger spaces, and both are free. There are also financial advisors and community events available.

There is no sales pitch or hard sell for Capital One banking products in the store. It mostly just feels like a coffee shop with extra amenities. But if you do want to open a new card or ask about account issues, staff are available to talk.

The Capital One Cafe menu includes classic espresso drinks and coffee beverages like lattes, mochas, oat milk lattes, and honey lavender lattes. The coffee is made by Verve Coffee Roasters. Some locations still serve Peet's coffee, but according to Capital One, those locations will transition to Verve coffee in 2024. If you do not drink coffee, there are also teas, tea lattes, and caffeine-free drinks like hot chocolate. More unique options include turmeric ginger and a tasty “orange creamsicle soda.”

The menu also includes tempting food items such as pastries and sandwiches. There are also refrigerated grab-and-go items for purchase. According to the Capital One website, the standard food menu includes flatbreads, egg bites, and sandwiches.

Extra Discount

If you have any Capital One credit card, or even a debit card, you can get 50% off handcrafted drinks. It is worth noting that cardholders do not get discounts on food or ready-to-drink beverages.
