[2020.7 Update] I received an email saying this app will close on July 31, and after that you won’t be able to log in and view the gift cards stored in it. If you’ve used this app before, I recommend going in, finding any gift cards you still have there, checking whether they’ve been used up, and then deleting any linked credit card accounts stored in the app. These kinds of apps really feel like they just go raise a round of money from investors, burn through it, and then shut down...
As a user of the Swych mobile app, we are reaching out to let you know that on July 31st, 2020, the Swych mobile app will be disabled and no longer supported. This means that you will no longer be able to access the cards you may have stored in the app.Prior to July 31st, 2020, we recommend that you log into Swych to retrieve all of your card data and store it safely so that the data is available for redemption. You can securely store your gift cards in your Apple Wallet directly from the Swych app or take a screenshot of the card details for future redemption.
Thank you for supporting Swych. We have appreciated your business. Should you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

About SWYCH
Swych is also an app that lets you buy merchant gift cards directly. Unlike Raise, the gift cards sold by Swych are all electronic first-party gift cards, meaning they come directly from the merchant. So in terms of security and reliability, it is relatively high. At the moment, Swych only has iOS and Android app versions.
The reason I noticed Swych is that this app can be used with Android Pay and Apple Pay. Recently there have been a series of mobile pay promotions from Chase Freedom, Marriott, and Ritz Carlton, and on top of that, the US Bank Altitude Rewards credit card comes with 3x points on mobile pay. So being able to pay for gift cards with mobile pay becomes very valuable.
Sign-up and referral bonus
Right now, if you sign up for Swych through a referral link, you can get a $5 off code. There is no such code for direct sign-up.
After entering your phone number, you’ll receive a sign-up text message. Just use the link in the text message to download the app. Make sure you use the referral code on your first order (the code will be loaded automatically at checkout; just tap Apply). Don’t use any other promo code, or the second order may no longer be eligible. Also, your email address must be verified for the first purchase.
Buying gift cards
Purchase steps
Just search for the gift card you want in the Gift menu. If you’re buying for yourself, the gift card will appear in your own app. If you’re buying for someone else, you can enter their email address or mobile phone number directly.
Payment methods
At the moment, Swych only supports Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Android Pay, and PayPal. Credit card payment options will be added in the near future.
View cards
You can see all the gift cards you’ve purchased under My Card.
Discount offers
Buy for yourself with 1%-2% off
Use Swych to buy select gift cards for yourself and you can get a 1%-2% discount. At the moment, it seems to work only for AMC and Sephora.
Lowe's Gift Card $115 for $100
In the app, choose a $100 Lowe's gift card and add code: slicklowes at checkout. You’ll see that you can buy a $115 Lowe's gift card for just $100. These offers usually allow one card per account and different promotions appear from time to time. Note that the $5 referral credit cannot be stacked with this code, so it’s best to use the referral $5 first, then buy this kind of discounted gift card.
Best credit cards
Based on the current payment methods, the cards that can earn bonus rewards are the following:
- US Bank Altitude Reserve: 3x points on mobile payments, using Android Pay or Apple Pay
- Wells Fargo Cash Wise: 1.8% cash back on mobile payments
- Citi AT&T Access More: Paying with PayPal may count as 3x online purchases (unverified)
- Chase Marriott: Recently had a promotion for 5 Android/Apple Pay transactions and $15 back.
- Chase Ritz Carlton: Recently had a promotion for 5 Apple Pay transactions and $15 back.
