Travelers United announced that it will sue Hyatt for failing to properly disclose extra hotel fees such as resort fees. These resort fees do not appear in the search results interface. Instead, they are added only at the final step of the hotel booking process, making people think they are mandatory government charges, when in fact they are extra fees imposed by the hotel itself.
Marriott was previously sued for similar reasons as well, and afterward its search and booking interface was updated to include the resort fee.
