Last year, RadPad launched a huge promotion for paying rent with Android Pay and a credit card with no fee. The outcome, however, was far from ideal: some rent checks paid through RadPad bounced, and in the end the company appeared to run into cash-flow problems and was forced to shut down its rent payment business. But following an update to the RadPad app, it looks like the rent payment feature has returned.

According to RadPad’s update notes, the company appears to have been acquired, and the rent payment feature has come back.

RadPad’s fee is not the cheapest, but its advantage is that if you use Android Pay or Apple Pay to pay rent with a credit card, the transaction may code as “hotel.” That means you can earn 3x points on cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Citi Prestige, Citi ThankYou Premier, and Citi AT&T Access More, potentially offsetting the 2.99% fee you pay. A Reddit user had already tested this and found that using Apple Pay with the Chase Sapphire Reserve on RadPad to pay rent could earn 3x UR points.
