As we mentioned earlier, after its funding round, Plastiq proudly cut its refer bonus. See:

At the same time, the author also noticed that Plastiq slightly increased the fees for some Canadian credit cards. Since we are not very familiar with the Canadian system, we will not go into detail here.

*Payments made to the Canada Revenue Agency, and select others, receive a 2.5% transaction fee. All other payers to Canadian recipients are charged a 2.85% transaction fee.

Although PQ has always claimed that its fee is only 2.5%, that is not entirely true. Many Chinese credit cards are charged 3.5%, some are 2.5%, and occasionally some are 1% [truly a great tool for earning online overseas cashback on Chinese cards], with no obvious pattern. For U.S. cards, it will probably still stay at 2.5% for the short term.

  • Plastiq personal account signup link (limited-time offer of $500 FFD, Fee-Free Dollar) [this really may be limited-time now; it feels like it could be cut at any moment]
  • If you already signed up on the official website (not through a refer link), you usually only get $50 FFD. Within three months, you can enter code 1186681 in the Rewards & Referrals section and still receive a new $500 FFD, for a total of $550 FFD. Not much, but better than nothing.
