The Chase Sapphire Reserve card’s 3-month Marriott Gold offer is back again. You can get it just by registering, but you must register between July 1 and September 30. If you complete 3 paid stays within 3 months, you can extend Gold status all the way through February 2028, which is quite a long time. It feels like this Marriott Gold promotion comes around every year and is basically a recurring offer at this point.
In 2026, this card’s The Edit credit became much easier to use, since it is no longer split between the first and second half of the year. You can get two $250 credits each year, and each booking requires a minimum 2-night stay. In addition, bookings in 2026 at the following hotels can also qualify for an extra $250 statement credit, including:
- IHG® Hotels & Resorts
- Montage Hotels & Resorts
- Pendry Hotels & Resorts
- Omni Hotels & Resorts
- Virgin Hotels
- Minor Hotels
- Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts
- Promotion details
In addition, some users also received a Chase Travel offer for $100 back on $600 in spending. If you can stack all three, that effectively means spending $600 and getting back $250 + $250 + $100. Of course, you would need to find a property from the list above that is also available through The Edit.

Benefits
- Priority Pass: This membership gives access to participating lounges and allows you to bring 2 guests with you. Note that you need to activate this benefit in the Benefits section before you will receive your membership card. In addition, authorized users on this card can also get their own Priority Pass membership. The Priority Pass that comes with this card now also has a digital version. Just register your PP card at this link, and then you can add it in the Priority Pass app on your phone. Many Priority Pass locations now support QR code entry, so this is much more convenient.
- Maple Leaf Lounge: Cardholders can now get complimentary access to Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounge. You only need a same-day boarding pass on Air Canada or another Star Alliance airline. However, this benefit is for the cardholder only, and you cannot bring complimentary guests. Official link
- Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club: Cardholders can also access Chase’s own premium lounges, Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club (New York, Boston, and Hong Kong). Overall, it is nice to see more benefits without a higher annual fee. CSR benefits PDF. The three lounge locations are listed below:
- New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in the brand new Terminal B,
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) Terminal B to C Connector,
- and later this year, a first international location in Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) Terminal 1.)
- The Edit hotel benefits: The Edit, this premium hotel booking platform, is now live. Its benefits are basically comparable to FHR, including breakfast for two, a $100 property credit, room upgrades, early check-in, late checkout, and more. You should compare pricing between standard booking channels and The Edit before deciding, but if the price is similar, booking through The Edit can be a very good option. About The Edit
- sbe hotel booking benefits: When you book sbe hotels with this card, you can get benefits such as a complimentary 4th night, a $30 hotel dining credit, room upgrades, and two free breakfasts daily. It looks similar to AMEX FHR. However, sbe only has a little over a dozen hotels, most of them in the luxury segment: 9 in Miami, 3 in New York, 2 in London, and 1 each in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, the Bahamas, Istanbul, and Doha. This benefit does look pretty good, but if you plan to book, it is best to compare prices with the sbe website and third-party sites like booking.com. In general, rates through the CSR booking link can be much more expensive. So you should compare the value of the perks plus the free 4th night against lower third-party pricing to see which is better. Still, having one more benefit is a good thing. - Cash back portal (UR mall): Chase’s own shopping portal also offers rewards at merchants such as Walmart, Sears, Staples, and Apple Store. It is also a good way to quickly earn points.
Various credits (totaling $2,300+)
- $300 travel credit: You get $300 back each year on all travel-related purchases, including airfare, hotels, cruises, rental cars, etc. That effectively lowers the annual fee by $300. It has now changed to a cardmember-year basis. Terms and conditions for this credit. A new term was also added: if you close or downgrade the card within 90 days, the credit may be clawed back (We may reverse statement credits if an eligible purchase is returned, canceled, or modified or if you close your account within 90 days of receiving a statement credit。)
- $500 The Edit credit: Up to $250 per use, with a maximum of $500 per year ( details ). A minimum 2-night stay is required. Since these hotels are generally at least $200+ after taxes, you will still need to pay some out of pocket.
- $300 premium dining credit: Must be used through Sapphire Reserve Tables, $150 every half year. A nice excuse to enjoy a fancy meal.
- $300 StubHub credit: $150 every half year. You can use it yourself, or buy popular tickets and resell them.
- $300 DoorDash credit: $25 per month, but it is split into three parts, $5 + $10 * 2, which is annoying, though still usable.
- $120 DoorDash membership credit
- $250 Apple streaming credit: Apple TV+ and Apple Music, basically free.
- $120 Lyft credit: $10 per month, effectively one free ride each month. If you do not use Lyft, there is not much you can do with it.
- $120 Peloton credit: $10 per month
- Global Entry/TSA Pre credit $100: A standard benefit on premium cards, usually reimbursing the application fee. Once every 4 years.
High-spending rewards After spending $75,000, you can get the following rewards. They actually look pretty good. The two credits add up to $750, which is like an extra 1% back. Also, IHG Diamond is pretty nice since it includes free breakfast.
- $500 Southwest credit
- Southwest A-List status
- IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status
- $250 The Shops credit
About the Points System
Unique features
This card has many unique ways to use points, and only this card and the Sapphire Reserve Business can access them. Specifically:
- When booking premium cabins or certain popular hotels through Chase Travel, the value of Ultimate Rewards points increases to 2x (100 points = $2). The existing option to redeem Ultimate Rewards points at 1.5x through Chase Travel will be discontinued.
Shared
- Point value: The average value is 1.6c/p, so 100 UR = $1.6 (Point Values and Analysis)
- Direct redemption: Cash redemptions are worth 1c; travel redemptions are worth 1c (without a premium card). Premium hotel redemptions or business/first class flights can yield 1.75c (with Ink Preferred or Sapphire Preferred), and 2c with the Sapphire Reserve.
- Point transfers: Transfer 1:1 to United miles (good for China–US economy, domestic US economy, and one-way tickets); transfer 1:1 to British Airways miles (good for China–Japan and short-distance domestic US redemptions); transfer 1:1 to Hyatt points (great for Hyatt hotel stays, with value up to 1.8 cents per point).
- Point features: Ultimate Rewards points can be freely moved among your own cards. They can also be transferred to one designated spouse or partner. To transfer points to airline miles or hotel points, you need support from Ink Preferred, Sapphire Preferred, or Sapphire Reserve. You can also transfer to the mileage or points account of an authorized user.
- My take: UR’s main airline transfer partners are United Airlines, British Airways, Aeroplan, and Air France. UA can book most Star Alliance award tickets, while BA covers some domestic US AA flights. On the hotel side, Hyatt is the best option and can often deliver about 1.6c in value per point, but Hyatt has a relatively small footprint in the US, so your choices may be limited. If you have the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve, booking flights, hotels, and activities through Chase Travel can get you 1.25c/1.5c in value, which is one of the best high-value options for beginners. Cash/gift card redemptions are worth 1 cent.

Pay Yourself Back
The Pay Yourself Back categories on this card have been updated somewhat (previously it was groceries). If you hold this card, you can redeem 100 Ultimate Rewards points to cover $1.25 of the following purchases: wholesale clubs, pet supply stores and services, and gas. Of course, if you have travel needs, transferring points to partners such as United Airlines and World of Hyatt may still get you more than 1.25 cents per point in value. It really depends on your own preferences. Having one more cash-out option is always nice.
My Take
Short-term holding strategy: If you do not plan to keep this card long term, you can get the welcome bonus and use the $300 reimbursement first. After one year, you can decide whether to downgrade it to the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Freedom to earn bonus rewards in other categories. Later, when you need to transfer Ultimate Rewards points to airline miles, you can upgrade the card to the Chase Sapphire Preferred. CSR vs. Chase Sapphire Preferred: This card also unlocks the value of the large amount of Ultimate Rewards points earned from Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited. Although this card has a $450 annual fee, the airline reimbursement brings the effective annual fee down to just $150. With the additional perks, it should clearly be better for long-term holding than the Chase Sapphire Preferred, which is currently the must-have personal card for transferring points. So the Chase Sapphire Preferred becomes even less compelling. Not to mention this card's 3x on travel, which easily beats the Chase Sapphire Preferred's 2x.
For Existing Cardholders
Existing cardholders (meaning all cardholders before June 23, including those who upgraded to this card) have a dedicated page explaining the benefit changes, with a pop-up under “learn more.” All new benefits officially take effect after October 26, 2025. Details are as follows:
- Starting October 26, you will receive all new benefits, the new rewards structure, and the various statement credits/reimbursements.
- Annual fees charged after October 26 will become $795 (depending on whether your annual fee date is before or after that date), and the authorized user annual fee will likewise change to $195.
In short, before year-end on December 31, there are several credits below that you can still use. They are all based on the calendar year, so don't miss them! The useful ones alone add up to around $800.
- $250 The Edit credit: available once in the second half of the year; book a The Edit hotel and it should reimburse automatically.
- $150 fine dining credit: must be used through Sapphire Reserve Tables, $150 every half year. Basically a free nice meal.
- $150 StubHub credit: $150 every half year. You can use it yourself, or buy popular tickets and resell them secondhand.
- DoorDash credit: $25 per month, but split into three parts as $5 + $10*2, which is annoying, though still usable.
- $120 DoorDash membership fee credit
- $250 Apple streaming credit: Apple TV+ and Apple Music. Basically free.
- Lyft credit: $10 per month, basically one free ride each month; if you can't use it, there's not much you can do.
- Peloton credit: $10 per month
Remember that many benefits need to be activated before you can use them. If you log in to your Chase account now, you should already be able to see all the new benefits.
- As for the changes to point redemptions, Chase is giving existing cardholders a two-year grace period for points earned on CSR before October 26. Points earned before then can still be redeemed at the highest applicable rate until October 26, 2027. For example, for hotel bookings, if a booking falls into the top-booking category, a 2x redemption rate will automatically apply; if not, then 1.5x will apply automatically.
Application
- This card's minimum approved credit line is between $7,500 and $10,000. It is recommended to lower the credit limits on some of your other Chase cards before applying; this card also has certain income requirements. In addition, if you have received a welcome bonus on the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve within the past 48 months, your application will not be approved.
- This credit card is unavailable to you if you currently have one open. If you already have a CSR open, you cannot get this one.
- The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you currently have any other personal Sapphire cards open, previously held this card or received a new cardmember bonus for this card. If you currently have a personal Sapphire card, you may not be eligible. If you previously received a Sapphire bonus, you may also be ineligible (this sounds like it may be lifetime?).
- We may also consider the number of cards you have opened and closed, as well as other factors in determining your bonus eligibility. Similar to the AMEX pop-up: if they say you can't get it, then you can't get it.
