Bilt September Rent Day: Virgin Points transfer bonus up to 100%, London from just 3,000 Bilt Points

Bilt announced its September 2026 Rent Day promotion. On September 1 only, you can transfer Bilt Points to Virgin Points and earn a 25%-75% bonus depending on your Bilt membership tier. If you use Bilt Cash to upgrade the transfer tier, you can get up to a 100% Bonus.

This one feels a bit more practical than a lot of recent Rent Day offers. Virgin Points have lost a lot of value over the years, but they are still a fairly useful airline currency. Virgin Atlantic also still offers Saver Reward awards as low as 6,000 points one-way; if you get a 100% transfer bonus, that means as few as 3,000 Bilt Points.

This time, Platinum itself gets a 75% Bonus, and if you're willing to use $200 Bilt Cash to upgrade, you can get a 100% Bonus. Bilt also now lets lower-tier members use Bilt Cash to move that month's transfer bonus up to the next membership tier, but only one level at a time.

Can 3,000 Bilt Points really get you to London?

Yes, but you need to find the lowest-priced Saver Reward.

Virgin Atlantic now uses dynamic award pricing, but it still releases Saver Reward seats, with economy one-way awards starting at just 6,000 Virgin Points. A common example is New York to London, where pricing can start at 6,000 points one-way.

If you're a Bilt Platinum member and use $200 Bilt Cash to upgrade this offer to a 100% Bonus:

3,000 Bilt Points → 6,000 Virgin Points

In theory, that means you only need 3,000 Bilt Points to book a one-way economy award ticket from the U.S. East Coast to London.

But don't focus only on the idea of “3,000 points to London.” Virgin Atlantic awards require you to pay taxes and carrier-imposed surcharges in addition to points, and pricing is dynamic, so there is not a 6,000-point Saver Reward every day. Business class is especially worth watching because surcharges can be high; sometimes the points price looks cheap, but the cash portion is steep.

So I still recommend searching for the exact ticket you want first, then transferring points.

What else are Virgin Points good for?

Besides Virgin Atlantic itself, another common use for U.S. members is booking partner awards, including Delta, Air France, KLM, and others.

One of Virgin Points' biggest draws used to be ANA first and business class awards, but award pricing has gone up several times in recent years, and those seats are not as easy to find as they used to be. So I would not move a large amount of Bilt Points over just because of a 100% Bonus.

The main advantage of Bilt Points is that there are so many transfer partners, which makes keeping them in Bilt much more flexible.

My take

I think this September Rent Day offer is one of the more worthwhile ones we've seen lately.

Blue members also get 25%, Gold gets 45%, and Platinum gets 75%; if Platinum members are willing to spend $200 Bilt Cash to upgrade, they can get a 1:2 transfer to Virgin Points.

If you have already found a good Virgin Atlantic or partner award ticket, this is a solid transfer opportunity. Especially if you find a Saver Reward at the 6,000 Virgin Points floor, a 100% Bonus really does amount to only 3,000 Bilt Points.

But if you do not have any travel plans right now, I still would not hoard Virgin Points just for the words “100% Bonus.” Virgin awards are dynamically priced, and taxes and fees can be high. Bilt Points can be transferred to many partners, and that flexibility is valuable on its own.
