About JetBlue
JetBlue is the sixth-largest airline in the United States. It has a very dense route network on the East Coast, and it also serves other major US cities. In addition, it operates international routes to and from the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Bermuda.
Points program: JetBlue points have a fixed value, roughly around 1.2 cents per point. Any JetBlue flight can be booked with points, and the number of points required is tied to the current cash price of the flight. There is a family pooling feature that lets you combine points with family members for shared use. Points never expire. In addition to earning points from credit card spending, you can also earn points when buying airfare based on the ticket price, generally at 6-8 points per dollar depending on fare class. There are also occasional promotional bonuses.
Elite status: In addition to earning through credit card spending, you can qualify for JetBlue Mosaic with either 30 flight segments + 12,000 flight points or 15,000 flight points. JetBlue Mosaic includes benefits such as priority boarding, 2 free checked bags, and an extra 3 points earned.
My Take
This card is not worth applying for directly because the welcome bonus is simply too low. If you’re interested in JetBlue, you’re better off applying for the JetBlue Plus Card with a $99 annual fee, earning the 30,000-point JetBlue bonus, and then downgrading to this no-annual-fee card after a year for long-term holding.
Application
- If you currently hold any JetBlue credit card, your application will not be approved
- This is a co-branded airline card. You can enter your JetBlue loyalty number when applying; if you don’t have one, one will be assigned automatically
Barclays Application Guide
- Check Barclays credit card application status
- Barclays credit card applications generally pull TransUnion (TU), and HPs on the same day can be combined
- If you already have another Barclays card and your new application is not approved, there will usually be no hard pull
- You can call the reconsideration line (866-408-4064) to speed up credit card approval or request another review of a denied application. They may verify your identity and address, ask why you want the card, and review your employment and repayment situation, so be prepared. You may need to move credit limit from an existing card to get approved.
