Also, cardholders have received email notifications saying that this card will be issued by US Bank. The conversion is expected to happen on August 14, 2026; until then, existing cards can still be used. It’s still not clear whether the old card will convert directly to a US Bank version or be changed to another AMEX card.

Amazon’s official website has also posted instructions about the switch to US Bank, and the benefits seem to have improved slightly: originally, you could earn 5% on the first $12,000 in spending, but now the cap has been raised to $15,000.

*After reaching $150,000 in combined annual Net Purchases, cardholders will earn 1% back on these categories.

AMEX Amazon Business Business Credit Card

5% cash back at Amazon and Whole Foods; no annual fee!

  • Welcome bonus: $200 Amazon GC (free when you open the card; $125 for non-Prime)
  • Rewards: 5% at Amazon, Whole Foods, and AWS; 2% at restaurants, gas stations, and wireless phone services; 1% on everything else
  • Redemption: Cash back
  • Annual fee: $0
  • Apply now>>

Highlights

  • 5% category coverage across the board: Most Amazon-related spending is covered, and AWS also earns 5%, which is great for business users. If you are not a Prime member, it’s only 3%, so I strongly recommend signing up for Prime first. Only the first $120,000 of Amazon-related spending each year earns 5% cash back
  • 60 days interest-free: If you don’t want the 5% cash back, you can choose 60 days interest-free on that purchase, which is useful for cash flow on large business expenses
  • Business card features: Amazon Business purchases can be listed separately for analysis; enjoy exclusive Amazon Business discounts; employee card management
  • No foreign transaction fee (FTF): Most cards with no FTF have annual fees, so it’s nice that this card has no annual fee. See: FTF intro

AMEX card benefits

  • "Business-card exclusive" AMEX Open Savings: Using an AMEX business credit card at select merchants can earn extra 2x Membership Rewards or a 5% discount. Merchants include: FedEx Express and FedEx Ground, Hertz®, HP.com, and more. See: Open Savings introduction
  • AMEX Offers: Amazon $20 back on $20, Walmart $5 back on $15, phone bill $10 back on $75. Generous AMEX often sends cardholders great offers, letting you earn cash rewards while you spend. For more details, see: Recent good AMEX Offers, Archive of past good AMEX Offers, AMEX Offers explained.
  • "Business-card exclusive" more and better AMEX Offers: As a business credit card, it gets more good offers, such as Staples, Office Depot offers, Sam’s Club 20% off offers (gift cards can be purchased). These exclusive offers are not sent to personal credit cards.
  • Small Business Day: Every year, all AMEX credit cards can participate in Small Business Day, where spending at select merchants earns extra rewards. See: Small Business Day promotion introduction
  • High credit limits: AMEX is very generous with customers and often gives limits much higher than other banks.
  • 3X credit limit increase: After holding the card for 61 days, you can request a credit limit increase up to 3x the original amount through the website.
  • Free ShopRunner membership: Enjoy free two-day shipping from many online stores. For details, see: official link
  • Extended warranty: Purchases made in full with the AMEX card automatically get a one-year extension of the manufacturer’s warranty
  • Free credit score: Cardholders can check their free Experian credit score. See: free credit score comparison

My take

This new card looks pretty good in every respect, and with no annual fee it can be kept for the long term. Just remember that you need a Prime membership as well ($119/year) to get the 5% cash-back category. Compared with the Chase Amazon card, the cash-back structure and benefits are similar, but this card adds two pretty good merchants: AWS and Amazon Business. In addition, because this is a business credit card, it comes with 60 days interest-free financing and business-card perks. Compared with the Amazon Store Card, it also adds 5% cash back at Whole Foods.

If you want unlimited Amazon cash back, the cards below should fit the bill

This card is pretty easy to get; generally, about a year of credit history is enough for instant approval.

  • AMEX official application status check link
  • For the same AMEX credit card, the public welcome bonus is generally available only once (once-per-lifetime restriction)
  • You can call the reconsideration line (800-528-4800, 877-399-3083, 866-314-0237) to speed up credit card approval or request a review of a denied application.
  • AMEX limits you to 4 credit cards and 10 charge cards total.
  • You can apply for a total of two AMEX credit cards every 90 days, excluding charge cards.
  • After you submit your application, a pop-up may appear telling you that you are not eligible for the welcome bonus. In that case, it is usually best not to continue with the application (detailed analysis)
