[Updated 2021.9] Starting in September, Wyndham points were removed. Apple gift cards, Google Pay gift cards, and CVS vouchers were added instead ($5). Overall, it is still roughly a 10% rebate, so it may still be worth doing, though it is not as good as Wyndham points.

If you had already selected Wyndham points, it will automatically be changed to “1 month of Tencent Video VIP.” Remember to manually change it in Visa’s official service account.

Promotion Details

Visa has launched another solid promotion: make a single eligible international online purchase of $50+, and receive either certain domestic gift cards (30 RMB) or Wyndham hotel points (2500 points per redemption), up to three times per month. HT: 贾绪

  • Promotion: Shop Internationally and Earn Rewards
  • Promotion period: July 2, 2022 to December 31, 2022 (likely to be extended)
  • Details: Cardholders of eligible bank-issued Visa cards can use their Visa card at eligible overseas merchants through the Visa payment network (hotel and travel purchases do not count). For each transaction of at least $50, you can receive one reward. Each card and each mobile number can receive up to three rewards per month.
  • Reward options: 29–30 RMB vouchers for Tencent, iQIYI, DiDi, Shenzhou Car Service, Ele.me, Luckin Coffee, and Nayuki, or Wyndham hotel points (2500 points per redemption)

Tips for Using This Promotion

  • Don’t forget to stack this with overseas online spending cashback promotions on China-issued Visa credit cards. For example, it should also work with the weekly $20 back offer.
  • Some Visa card types may not be eligible to register. If you cannot register, that means your card does not meet the terms, so read the terms and choose an eligible credit card.
  • The terms state that the promotion has a cap on participation (2,000 slots per month), so it is best to use it as early as possible each week.
  • If you do not really need to buy anything, you can simply reload or purchase a $50 Amazon gift card.
