Truist Checking has raised its opening bonus, and the requirements aren't complicated. The key is to receive a total of $2,000 in direct deposit and make 20 debit card purchases. You need to complete it within 120 days of account opening. If you already have direct deposit or can handle a fake direct deposit, don't miss this easy $500 bonus. The offer ends on February 2, 2027.

This bonus still has some appeal, so I also added it to the rankings.

Below I’ll share the timeline for getting the bonus and a direct deposit method. A Chase checking account can be used to complete a fake direct deposit, which is pretty nice. Use your personal Chase account and initiate an ACH transfer from Chase (mainly, don’t make it an instant transfer). Note that there are two requirements: one is a $2,000 direct deposit (two transfers are needed; a total of $2,000 is enough), and the other is 20 debit card purchases. Details below
  • January 20 - opened account, deposited $50
  • January 22 - Chase ACH transfer of $1,150
  • January 23 - Chase ACH transfer of $650
  • January 27-29 - 20 debit card purchases of $1.xx each
  • February 3 - another direct deposit of $267
  • February 5 - reward pending
  • February 6 - $400 bonus posted~

In summary, here are the ways to complete a fake direct deposit. Note that all of these are initiated from a bank or investment platform: use ACH transfers from banks, and withdrawals from investment platforms, all to Truist.

  • Banks: Affinity, Ally, Axos, Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, Discover, Fulton, SoFi, Wells Fargo, Wise
  • Investment platforms: Charles Schwab, E*Trade, Fidelity
As for the 20 debit card purchases, you can refer to this article; it's easy to complete. And you have 120 days, so there's plenty of time

Reward Timeline

Below is a community member's timeline for receiving the bonus. You can see that once everything was completed, the bonus arrived quickly; there was no need to wait a full four weeks.

Direct Deposit

If you have wage income and can switch it to this checking account, that is the safest option. Two deposits totaling $2,000 are still easy to complete. If you don't want to or can't switch your payroll deposit, you can activate the bonus using the transfer methods below. According to user reports, ACH transfers from BofA, Capital One, Chase, and Discover can all work. Investment accounts such as Wise, SoFi, and Schwab also work and are still pretty easy.

Fees

Truist Bright Checking has a $12 monthly fee, which can be waived by:

  • Receiving more than $500 in direct deposit each month;
  • Maintaining a balance of $500
