The promotional Companion Pass from this offer allows you to designate one companion to fly for free on flights from January 6 to March 6, 2025 (excluding taxes and fees, with a minimum fare of $5.60 per person per segment).
- Do flights booked before registration qualify for the promotional Companion Pass?
No. Qualifying flights must be booked after registration, between September 3 and September 5, 2024.
- What happens after I qualify for the promotional Companion Pass?
Once you qualify for the promotional Companion Pass (i.e., register, book, and complete one roundtrip or two one-way qualifying flights within the applicable dates), we will send an email within 10 days confirming qualification and including next steps, plus how to designate and use the promotional Companion Pass.
- After receiving the promotional Companion Pass, when can I designate my companion?
After the promotional Companion Pass is posted to your account (January 6, 2025), you can designate your companion in "My Account" at Southwest.com®. You may also call Southwest Airlines at 1-800-435-9792 to designate one. To change a companion, call 1-800-435-9792.

- Register for this promotion between 8:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. (Central Time) on September 3 to September 5, 2024, then book one qualifying roundtrip or two one-way qualifying Southwest flights between September 3 and November 20, 2024 (the "Promotion Period"), and travel during the travel period to receive a promotional Companion Pass valid from January 6 to March 6, 2025.
- To enroll in this promotion, you will need your Southwest Rapid Rewards® member account number. If you do not have a Rapid Rewards® account, you may sign up online at Southwest.com/rapidrewards. A Rapid Rewards account is free.
- Members must register, book qualifying flights, and travel during the promotion period. Registration must be completed before booking and before travel begins. Qualifying flights must be booked through Southwest.com or swabiz.com and completed during the travel period. The member’s Rapid Rewards account must be submitted at the time of booking qualifying flights to earn the promotional Companion Pass valid from January 6 to March 6, 2025.
- For this promotion, a qualifying one-way flight is a one-way revenue flight from an origin city to a destination city, including any Southwest stopovers and/or connections.
- For this promotion, a qualifying roundtrip flight is a roundtrip revenue fare from an origin city to a destination city, returning to the originating airport or a Southwest-approved shared airport.
- This offer applies only to travel booked between September 3 and November 20, 2024. Travel booked or flown before September 3, 2024, is not eligible for this promotional Companion Pass. Award travel and Cash + Points bookings qualify for this promotional offer. Companion Pass, charter, award, and group travel, as well as Southwest Vacations® packages, do not qualify for this promotion. Changes to any itinerary after ticket purchase may make the promotion ineligible. From January 6 to March 6, 2025, when a companion travels on a flight issued with a promotional Companion Pass or a Companion Pass booking, no Rapid Rewards points, elite qualifying points, or Companion Pass points will be awarded. While you hold the promotional Companion Pass, you may change your designated companion up to three times. If you earned the Companion Pass in 2024 by earning 135,000 Companion Pass points or completing 100 qualifying Companion Pass flights, and you change your designated companion during your promotional Companion Pass period, you may still make one companion change in 2025, but your total number of changes will be reduced.
- The Companion Pass is non-transferable. All Rapid Rewards terms and conditions apply and are available at Southwest.com/rrterms. Southwest reserves the right to modify, suspend, or change the Rapid Rewards program and/or the Rapid Rewards rules at any time without prior notice. Rapid Rewards members have no property rights to accrued points.
