Yesterday, Plastiq sent many people targeted 1% fee promotions (up to $10,000 total across three payments, through the end of the year). You can schedule next year’s bills in advance, such as rent, tuition, daycare, etc. As long as Plastiq confirms the scheduled payment before year-end, you can use this promotion.

Author KUKU has consistently received every 1% or 1.5% promotion Plastiq has sent out and has also been using Plastiq to pay rent regularly. Many people may have noticed that if you keep using Plastiq continuously, for example to pay rent once a month, Plastiq usually will not send you these low-fee promotions. So how can you keep using it and still continue receiving offers?

  • The answer: use additional accounts.

Plastiq currently allows you to register 1-2 additional accounts in moderation. Since registration requires your SSN, they also know these are your additional accounts. But simply having extra accounts is not enough. You need to make at least one payment with the additional account, then leave it inactive for a while while continuing to use your main account for regular payments. Before long, those additional accounts may start receiving low-fee promotions. The author uses an additional account whenever it has a low-fee offer; otherwise, the main account is used.
