Black Friday is almost here, and AMEX is already making moves. Just after midnight on November 1, AMEX quietly released a large batch of excellent AMEX Offers with discount after discount. Quantities are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. If you used our AMEX Offer Sync Tool, then all of the offers below should already have been automatically added for you. Just calmly check the AMEX website or mobile app. If you’re not sure how to use it, see this guide to automatically adding AMEX Offers.
#AmexBestBuy
Best Buy Offer: Spend $250 or more in total by December 31 and get $25 back. If you’re planning to buy a large, expensive item, you can first buy a $250 Best Buy gift card and then use the gift card to pay for the larger purchase, which works out to an effective 10% discount. However, you would give up AMEX’s one-year extended warranty, so decide for yourself whether it’s worth it.
#AmexNewegg
Newegg Offer: Spend $200 or more in total by December 31 and get $25 back. You can use the same gift card strategy here as well: buy a gift card first, then use it to buy what you actually want. That comes out to an effective 87.5% price, or about 12.5% off.
#AmexExxonMobil
Exxon Mobil Offer: By December 31, spend $30 or more in a single purchase at Exxon or Mobil branded gas stations and get $5 back. Each offer, meaning each card, can be used twice. This is valid only at the pump; purchases not made at the pump, such as inside a convenience store, will not qualify. Based on several recent AMEX gas station offers, AMEX seems to identify at-the-pump transactions pretty accurately, so it’s hard to game this by buying snacks or drinks instead. Of course, the most important factor is still the gas price. Don’t forget to click through a shopping portal when you buy. Both Best Buy and Newegg offer portal rewards through airline shopping portals, and the UA/AA/AS airline shopping portals all have mileage promotions that can be stacked with AMEX Offers. Time to shop! Come share your Black Friday haul with us!
