At today’s press announcement, JPMorgan Chase and Coinbase announced a strategic partnership. The initial phase of this collaboration includes a series of new features:
Specifically:
- Direct bank-to-wallet connection: Using JPMorgan’s secure API, Chase customers will be able to seamlessly link their bank accounts to their Coinbase wallets.
- Chase UR points transfers: Chase customers will be able to transfer their Chase points to their Coinbase accounts. This is the first time a major credit card rewards program can be used to fund a crypto wallet.
- Starting this fall, use Chase credit cards to fund Coinbase: Customers will, for the first time, be able to use Chase credit cards to fund their Coinbase accounts.
These features are expected to launch in 2026, while the ability to fund a Coinbase account with a credit card will roll out in fall 2025.
