Some Fidelity users can see an offer after logging in to get TurboTax Premier for free (regular price $105).

Some users can see the downloadable Premier version for only $5.

If you don’t see this offer after logging in, you can try the steps below [from US Credit Card Guide].

  • Click any offer to go to the TurboTax page
  • Change priorityCode in the link to 5781400000 and cid to all_fidsubnew_aff_5781400000
  • Refresh; TurboTax will say the page can’t be found. That’s normal—move on to the next step
  • Change priorityCode and turbotax_microsite in cookies to 5781400000
  • Refresh, and you should be taken to the $0 checkout page!

How non-Fidelity users can get the offer

After some digging, users found a way for non-Fidelity users to see the free web version and the $5 download version. Worth a try—$5 for tax software is a pretty good deal. I tried it myself and it really works, so hurry before the bug gets fixed.

  • Right-click and open Inspect anywhere
  • In the panel that opens, switch to the Console tab
  • Then on the Console page, allow pasting first. Type allow pasting and press Enter to enable it
  • Copy and paste the following line, then press Enter

document.cookie='priorityCode= 5781400000,turbotax_microsite= 5781400000'

  • Go back to the original TurboTax purchase page and refresh; you should see the free web version and the $5 download offer
  • One more tip: the download activation code works on both PC and Mac

Log in to your Chase account to see the TurboTax offer below. There’s no minimum spend, and you’ll get $5 or $10 back. In testing, a $5 charge also triggered it; stacked together, that means you can effectively profit $5 on each TurboTax purchase.
