We know that Amazon frequently runs Shop with Points promotions, sometimes offering discounts of up to 50% off. The most common eligible programs include AMEX MR, Discover Cash Bonus, and Citi TYP. See also:
Normally, when using an eligible credit card, you need to proactively enroll in this feature. Go to the Shop With Points page to complete the card linking process.
However, you no longer need to visit a dedicated page to activate it. You can now enable it directly at checkout, which is much faster and more convenient.
Using the purchase of an item as an example, on the checkout page, select the credit card you want to use for payment, and you should see the following prompt:
Click the Learn More link in the red box, and it will ask you to enter your Billing Zip code.
Oddly enough, Citi TYP cards do not seem to have this option, perhaps because the integration between the two sides is not fully in place yet.
- AMEX MR, Discover CB, and Discover Miles cards all work fine
- Newly added cards can also be automatically recognized by Amazon, and this activation option will appear during checkout
- After enabling it this way, you will immediately receive a confirmation email from Amazon
The only disappointing part is that after the author enabled it, Points still did not appear for the time being, even after refreshing. Perhaps this method is not fully ready yet, or it may take some time before it works properly. In any case, this is a good improvement, and it is expected to work normally in the future.
[Note] This method seems to have been available for quite a while. If any readers have used it before, feel free to share your experience.
