Orbitz is also a well-known OTA (online travel agency). It was acquired by Expedia in 2015. Although it looks more and more like Expedia, the Orbitz website still continues to operate independently. This credit card is co-branded by Orbitz and the small bank Comenity, which also issued the Virgin America credit card. While this card is not very well known, the travel rewards it earns are quite generous. Rewards are returned in the form of Orbucks, which can be used to book hotels on Orbitz.

- No annual fee.
- No foreign transaction fee.
Disadvantages of the Orbitz Rewards Credit Card
- The welcome bonus is only $50, though for a no-annual-fee card there is not much to complain about.
Using Orbucks
Search for hotels on Orbitz.com. If you see a hotel marked with "Orbucks Applied," that means you can redeem Orbucks there. All Starwood hotels are excluded and cannot be redeemed with Orbucks. Still, there are plenty of hotels where Orbucks can be used.

Should You Apply?
Earning 6% back in Orbucks on airfare booked through Orbitz is very strong compared with other credit cards, and you can still earn airline miles as usual. The downside is that changes and cancellations may come with extra fees. If you book hotels through Orbitz, you generally cannot also earn hotel points, so it makes sense to use Orbitz for independent hotels where the higher rebate is more valuable. Overall, this card is pretty worthwhile given that it has no annual fee, and it may be worth considering if you do not already have many cards. Have you applied for the Orbitz Rewards Credit Card?
