Many people have shopped at Coach Outlet, and people back home seem to like it. However, Coach Outlet has sometimes discounted items using the full-price list tags, which can make shoppers think these are leftovers from full-price stores that were sent here to be sold off. In reality, Outlet merchandise comes from a separate production line, and the quality control is reportedly much lower than in regular stores; it is also said to use different designers.
As a result, Coach Outlet was involved in a class-action lawsuit. The two sides have now reached a settlement that provides compensation to eligible shoppers. If you choose to receive compensation, you cannot continue to sue. The eligibility requirements are:
- Purchases made at Coach Outlet between Dec. 23, 2011 and Aug. 24, 2020
- Items purchased were discounted under MFSRP and carry an MFSRP tag
For purchases over $150 with no proof of purchase (such as a receipt), you can receive a $20 Coach Outlet Voucher or $5 in cash. For purchases over $150 with proof, you can receive two vouchers totaling $40 in value, or $10 in cash.
- If you made purchases totaling less than $150.00 or you have no proof of purchase, regardless of the amount spent, you may elect to receive 1 Coach Outlet Voucher worth up to $20.00, or $5.00 cash (“Tier 1 Claimant”).
- If you have proof of purchases totaling $150.00 or more, you may elect to receive 2 Coach Outlet Vouchers, together worth up to $40.00, or $10.00 cash (“Tier 2 Claimant”).
Compensation is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If the remaining vouchers or cash run out, the terms may be adjusted. To file, register at the following settlement website. The deadline is Jan. 21, 2021:
