Citi ThankYou points currently have two transfer-bonus promotions, one for Avianca LifeMiles and one for Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Both promotions are valid through April 18, 2026. During the promotion, Citi ThankYou points can receive a 25% bonus when transferred to Avianca LifeMiles, and a 30% bonus when transferred to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club (or Virgin Red). Details are as follows.
Avianca LifeMiles (25% bonus):
- Citi Strata Elite, Strata Premier, Prestige, and AT&T Access More cardholders: 1,000 Citi ThankYou points = 1,250 LifeMiles
- Other participating cards in the program (such as ThankYou Preferred, Double Cash, etc.): 1,000 Citi ThankYou points = 875 LifeMiles
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club (30% bonus):
- Citi Strata Elite, Strata Premier, Prestige, and AT&T Access More cardholders: 1,000 Citi ThankYou points = 1,300 Virgin Points
- Other participating cards: 1,000 Citi ThankYou points = 910 Virgin Points
Avianca LifeMiles is a Star Alliance program, and in recent years, most partner award tickets can no longer be redeemed through the program, which has reduced its practical value. Virgin Atlantic points can be used on SkyTeam partner flights, but its booking process and interface still need improvements. It is recommended to transfer only if you have a clear redemption plan in the near term and have confirmed that award inventory is sufficient.
