This card has an updated welcome bonus of 70,000 points. Hyatt points are quite valuable, and 70,000 points are worth a bit over $1,000 in redemptions. The card also offers up to $100 in Hyatt credit each year, so if you have Hyatt stays planned, that effectively reduces the annual fee by $100.
This welcome bonus is still pretty solid among business cards, so I’ve added it to our ranking of the best business credit card welcome offers. If you’re interested in other options, take a look as well.

About Hyatt Hotels and Hyatt Points
Hyatt has fewer properties than some of the other major hotel groups, but the portfolio tends to be smaller and more curated, with many properties having their own distinct character.
Introduction to Hyatt / World of Hyatt Points
- Point value: The average value is about 1.6 c/p, so 100 Hyatt points = $1.6 (Points Value & Analysis). In other words, a hotel stay worth about $160 would generally require around 10k Hyatt points.
- How to redeem: You can search and book directly on hyatt.com, and Hyatt uses a fixed award chart. To book suites with points, you need to call.
- Point rules: Hyatt points expire after 24 months of no account activity. Point transfers between accounts are allowed, but you need to print, fill out, and submit a form.
- My take: To get high value from Hyatt points, it’s best to use them during peak season and at higher-end properties, such as Park Hyatt New York, Park Hyatt Maldives, or resort properties like Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva. It’s often possible to get around 3 c/p in value, or even more.

My Take
The $199 annual fee on this card is a bit high. Even after subtracting the $100 in Hyatt credits, you’re still paying $99. Compared with the Hyatt personal card, which has a $99 annual fee and comes with a free night certificate worth about $150, this business version comes up short. The automatic 2x categories are broad, which is nice, but to be honest, 2x is not especially competitive in today’s credit card market. The 10% redemption rebate could have been a major selling point, but requiring $50,000 in spending to unlock it is a real downside. The most distinctive feature is probably the 5 elite nights for every $10,000 spent, which can help you reach higher Hyatt status. On the personal version, it’s 2 nights for every $5,000 spent.
Application Tips
- If your application is not approved instantly, be fully prepared before calling for reconsideration. If you do not have a real business, I would suggest not calling and just waiting for the result.
- For the business credit card application process, see Business Credit Card Application Steps.
- Approval difficulty: I recommend applying only if you have at least one year of credit history. Having a Chase business checking account also helps.
- Since this is a Hyatt co-branded credit card, it’s best to enter your Hyatt membership number on the application; otherwise, one will be assigned automatically.
