Not long ago, Cathay Pacific ran a major promo for round-trip tickets between the US or Canada and Hong Kong for just taxes and fees. If you missed that one, here’s another chance worth checking out. Cathay Pacific has now teamed up with Hopper to launch a buy-one-get-one offer on round-trip flights between North America and Hong Kong, with the tickets likewise sponsored by the Hong Kong Airport Authority. Do note, however, that you need to download the Hopper App to participate, and booking must be completed by June 23. The key details are as follows:
- Origin cities: US BOS/JFK/SFO/LAX, Canada YYZ/YVR. Destination: Hong Kong
- Tickets are round-trip economy. The fare class is still O class, same as last time, and can be credited to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. General members earn at a rate of 25%
- Booking must be completed by June 23
- Two passengers must travel together, departing and arriving together
- Travel must take place by February 23, 2024, with a minimum stay of 2 days and a maximum stay of one month on the round-trip ticket
- Change fee: HKD 2,400
How do you book it?
First, download the Hopper App and register. Hopper is an app for booking flights and hotels. Its biggest feature is that it can alert you to airfare price movements so you can buy when prices are low. This article on our blog gives a detailed introduction to the app. I do recommend it—it’s not some sketchy app.
After registering, this offer should appear on the Hopper app home page. If not, you can also look for it under the “Deal” page. Once you enter, fill out a form with your and your companion’s personal information and preferred itinerary, and then Hopper will have a human agent contact you to purchase the tickets. (Yes, in the 21st century it’s still manual booking... but given the price, we’ll take it.)
