- 5% cash back at select merchants, 3% on others: at Simon Mall merchants such as JCPenney, Aeropostale, Brooks Brothers, Nautica, Forever21, Reebok, Eddie Bauer, and Lucky Brand, you can earn 5% cash back at physical stores in the mall, or 5% when buying directly from their official websites; online purchases at gilt, ruelala, and shopperemiumoutlets also earn 5% cash back. The 5% and 3% cash back rates apply on up to $10,000 in spending per year.
- You can use a virtual card number immediately after approval
- In addition, since this card is the AMEX version, it can also be eligible for some AMEX Offers
Drawbacks

- It may be harder to get approved, and approved credit limits may not be high
About Cardless
Cardless, Inc. is a credit card company based in San Francisco, California. Cardless was founded in 2019 by Stanford graduates Michael Spelfogel and Scott Kazmeierowicz, and has been at the forefront of developing co-branded credit card products. Cardless has raised $50 million in equity financing from investors including Activant Capital, Greycroft, Accomplice, Pear VC, the Boston Celtics, the Phoenix Suns, as well as Plaid, Bonobos, Flatiron Health, and 100 Thieves. The company also currently has several other co-branded credit cards.
My Take
This is a co-branded card for Simon Mall, but the included merchants are actually fairly broad. If you spend frequently at Simon Mall, 3%–5% cash back is pretty decent. In the 5% category, JCP stores often have quite a few third-party gift cards for sale, which can be used strategically; if I remember correctly, Gilt also often has discounted gift cards available.
Application
- There are not many DPs on this card yet, but other Cardless cards (such as the Cavaliers card) seem to be fairly easy to get approved for
- The application only requires the last four digits of your SSN, and the pull is EX
