Apply for this card now to earn a limited-time $250 bonus after spending just $500, which is quite solid for a practical no-annual-fee card. It earns 3% cash back at grocery stores, on entertainment, streaming, and dining. In addition, you can earn 8% cash back on entertainment purchases through the Capital One portal, and 5% cash back on car rentals and hotel bookings. Overall, it has become a well-rounded no-annual-fee card and is definitely worth considering.

If you’re not sure whether you’ll be approved, you can try Capital One’s general Pre-Approval link to check your chances at no cost. Just click “See if You're Pre-Approved” and fill in your information.

This welcome bonus is very easy to earn, so I added it to the ranking.

My Take

If you live in a big city and dine out often, this card’s unlimited 3% cash back at restaurants is quite good. The 3% cash back on entertainment is also something very few cards offer, so it can be a nice complementary card. And while 3% back at restaurants is not best-in-class, it is already very good for a no-annual-fee card. If you’re interested in related cards, see:

Capital One Credit Card Application Guide

  • Application status can only be checked by phone: (800) 903-9177
  • Capital One applications usually pull reports from all three credit bureaus. You may be able to avoid a hard pull by freezing some of your credit reports.
  • You can apply for only one Capital One credit card every six months, including both personal and business cards. If you force another application, it will likely be instantly denied, but it will not result in a hard pull.
  • One person can hold at most two Capital One personal credit cards at the same time, counting only Capital One-issued cards.
  • If you do not qualify for the card you applied for, you may be automatically approved for a different card instead, usually a lower-tier version. You can choose to accept or decline it, and there will be no additional hard pull.
  • New applicants may be asked to upload ID during the application process.
