According to CNBC, Capital One will acquire Discover for $35.3B, with the deal expected to close in 2024–2025. Afterward, Capital One will keep the Discover brand and convert some of its Visa and Mastercard cards to Discover. Hopefully after the acquisition, applying for a Discover card won’t require a pull from all three bureaus!
