According to a data point from a reader, buying SB successfully triggered the Shop Small Offer on an AMEX card. If you have this offer on your card, this could be worth trying.
Also, the price now seems to have gone up to 21.99 (reportedly the regular price). Not sure whether this is the same for all accounts.
You can now buy Swagbucks points directly through the link below. For $20, you can buy 2,000 points. Those points can be redeemed directly for a $22 Amazon gift card or $20 PayPal (which can be transferred to your bank). You can pay with a credit card to earn rewards or help meet minimum spending requirements. You may be able to buy 1-3 times per day, but you need to leave some time between purchases, otherwise the order may be canceled. Note that purchases are not available in AZ, CT, MD, and ND.
