The founding team comes from Bitmain, Matrix Partners, and Canaan. Its business now spans multiple countries and regions, and it has also obtained regulatory licenses in multiple countries and regions. Their main services are as follows. Compared with other crypto platforms, they focus more on "asset appreciation" rather than simple trading.
In addition, they are currently gradually rolling out and upgrading their U.S. stock trading services, which we will explain in detail below.

BIT: Invest directly in real U.S. stocks with USDT
When many people first encounter BIT (formerly Matrixport), they think it is just a crypto wealth management platform. In fact, BIT officially launched U.S. stock trading services in 2026, becoming one of the few platforms in the industry that connects digital assets and U.S. stock investing. Users do not need a traditional overseas bank card; as long as they hold USDT or USDC, they can invest directly in real U.S. stocks.
Support for direct funding with USDT / USDC
Traditional brokerage account opening usually requires:
- An overseas bank card
- International wire transfer
- A longer time for funds to arrive
BIT supports:
- USDT deposits
- USDC deposits
- USD bank wire deposits
Funds can arrive in as little as seconds, and the service is available 24/7. For users who already hold digital assets, there is no need for additional FX conversion or cross-border transfers to invest in U.S. stocks.
Trade real U.S. stocks, not CFDs
This is one of BIT’s most noteworthy features. Many so-called "on-chain U.S. stocks" or "U.S. stock trading platforms" on the market actually offer:
- Contracts for difference (CFDs)
- Price-mapped products
- Tokenized stocks
Investors only get returns from price fluctuations and do not actually own the underlying stocks. BIT uses a direct connection to licensed brokerages model, and users buy actual held U.S. stock assets rather than price-mapped products. Investors can enjoy the corresponding shareholder rights, including dividends and voting rights.
Support for more than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs
BIT is connected to the U.S. market NBBO (National Best Bid and Offer) quote system. It currently supports:
- Nasdaq-listed companies
- NYSE-listed companies
- Mainstream ETFs
- Popular AI theme stocks
- Tech growth stocks
It covers more than 1,000 U.S. stock and ETF products. Common names include:
- NVIDIA (NVDA)
- Microsoft (MSFT)
- Apple (AAPL)
- Tesla (TSLA)
- Amazon (AMZN)
- Meta (META)
- QQQ ETF
- SPY ETF
Security
According to information disclosed by BIT, BIT’s U.S. stock business uses a compliant structure that is commonly used in the international brokerage industry. BIT does not custody users’ stocks itself—this is very important. Many people think, “If I buy U.S. stocks on BIT, are the stocks held by BIT?” In fact, they are not. BIT itself mainly handles:
- Account opening process
- Trading interface
- Customer service
- Account management
The U.S. stock assets and cash assets purchased by users are actually held within U.S.-licensed clearing institutions and brokerage systems. The partner institutions are all regulated by the U.S. SEC and FINRA. According to official disclosures, the current partner institutions include:
- Clear Street
- RQD Clearing
- Atomic Vault Securities (AVS)
- SEC-registered firms in the U.S.
- FINRA-regulated firms
- Licensed participants in the U.S. securities market
Relevant information can be publicly searched through the U.S. FINRA BrokerCheck system. What is the Omnibus IB structure? BIT's U.S. stock business uses the model commonly adopted by international brokerages: the Omnibus Introducing Broker (omnibus account) model. Put simply, users see their own separate accounts. At the U.S. clearing-firm level, all user assets are pooled into one large master account for clearing and custody. This model is widely used by:
- International online brokers
- Cross-border securities platforms
- Global brokerages
It does not mean customer assets are being commingled. Customer assets are segregated from platform assets According to the official explanation, under the Omnibus model, customer assets and company assets must be managed separately. BIT is responsible for maintaining user-level:
- Cash records
- Position records
- Trade records
Users can check their assets in the app at any time. In other words, the platform's operating funds are not directly mixed with customers' securities assets.
Why are crypto users starting to buy U.S. stocks?
Over the past two years, one very clear trend has emerged: many crypto users have started allocating to both:
- BTC
- ETH
- AI-themed U.S. stocks
- Nasdaq ETFs
The reason is simple: U.S. technology companies remain among the world's most profitable and innovative businesses. For long-term investors, holding both digital assets and U.S. stock assets can achieve better global asset allocation. BIT is taking advantage of this demand by connecting the crypto world and the traditional securities market within a single account system.
Fees and comparison
Summary
If you already use Binance, Bybit, or other crypto platforms, BIT's biggest value is not just its wealth management products. Its biggest strengths are:
- Buy U.S. stocks directly with USDT
- Actual stock ownership, with the proper U.S. securities licenses
- Support for dividends and shareholder rights
- More than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs
- Account opening completed in minutes
For investors who hold BTC, ETH, and stablecoins for the long term, BIT offers a very convenient way to allocate globally. In addition, they now support direct KYC account opening with an ID card, which is still fairly convenient. One point worth noting is that their main entity is in Bhutan, and Bhutan does not have diplomatic relations with China and does not participate in China's CRS. | BIT (formerly Matrixport) | Get $210 for deposits and trading | Suitable for users in China and digital-asset users. It can be used to allocate USDT/USDC and other funds into U.S. stocks. It is not a traditional U.S. brokerage, so you should review fees and the asset custody structure separately. |
| SoFi Invest | Get $75 for opening an account | Simple to use and supports Stock Bits, making it suitable for small-balance and long-term investing. Professional market data and trading tools are limited, so it is not suitable for frequent trading. |
| M1 Finance Investing | Get $10 for depositing money | Focused on Pies and automated investing. It is suitable for long-term dollar-cost averaging after setting your stock and ETF allocations, but not for users mainly focused on active trading. |
