About BIT
BIT (formerly Matrixport), founded in 2019, is a Singapore-headquartered, licensed and compliant digital asset financial services group. It provides institutional and professional investors with a full suite of financial services, including trading, custody, asset management, and financing. The group currently manages more than $6 billion in assets and processes more than $7 billion in monthly trading volume. It holds key licenses and qualifications including Singapore’s Major Payment Institution (MPI) license and a Swiss FINMA asset management license, and it has repeatedly been named to the Hurun Global Unicorn List and the Singapore Fintech Unicorn List. The founding team comes from Bitmain, Matrix Partners, and Canaan.
Its business currently covers multiple countries and regions, and it has also obtained regulatory licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
Its main services are shown below. Compared with other crypto platforms, BIT places more emphasis on asset growth rather than pure trading.
In addition, BIT is currently rolling out and upgrading its U.S. stock trading offering, which we will cover in detail below.

Registration Process
Registration and KYC process:
- Click the BIT exclusive sign-up link
- Enter your email address or mobile number
- Set your login password
- Complete email verification
- Download the app
- Submit your KYC identity verification
Approval usually takes just a few minutes. BIT currently supports direct KYC with a Chinese ID card. However, you cannot register using U.S. or Canadian identity documents.
I tested it myself, and the approximate time and required materials were as follows:
- Basic verification: Fill in your information, take photos of your ID card, and complete facial recognition. This can be approved almost instantly.
- Advanced verification: Proof of address is required, but if you verify with your ID card, you can pass by directly uploading the address side of the ID card. It took about 10-plus minutes in my case (official estimate: 1–4 days).
- U.S. stock verification: You need to provide a bit more information, such as trading purpose and source of funds, and again take photos of your ID card and complete facial recognition. It took about 1–2 hours in my case (official estimate: 1–4 days).
Download the App
The app can be downloaded and used normally on domestic Chinese internet connections, with no VPN required.

BIT: Invest Directly in Real U.S. Stocks With USDT
When many people first come across BIT (formerly Matrixport), they assume it is just a crypto yield platform. In fact, BIT officially launched U.S. stock trading in 2026, making it one of the few platforms in the industry to connect digital assets and U.S. stock investing. Users do not need a traditional overseas bank account. As long as they hold USDT or USDC, they can directly invest in real U.S. stocks.
Supports Direct Deposits in USDT / USDC
Opening an account with a traditional broker usually requires:
- An overseas bank account
- An international wire transfer
- A longer wait for funds to arrive
BIT supports:
- USDT deposits
- USDC deposits
- USD bank wire deposits
Funds can arrive in as little as seconds, and the platform is available 24/7. For users who already hold digital assets, this makes it possible to invest in U.S. stocks without additional FX conversion or cross-border bank transfers.
Trade Real U.S. Stocks, Not CFDs
This is one of the most noteworthy aspects of BIT. Many so-called “on-chain U.S. stocks” or “U.S. stock trading platforms” on the market actually offer:
- Contracts for difference (CFDs)
- Price-tracking products
- Tokenized stocks
In those cases, investors only get exposure to price movements and do not truly own the underlying shares. BIT, by contrast, uses a direct-to-licensed-broker model, so users are buying actual U.S. stock assets rather than price-tracking products. Investors can receive the corresponding shareholder rights, including dividends and voting rights.
Supports More Than 1,000 U.S. Stocks and ETFs
BIT is connected to the U.S. market’s NBBO (National Best Bid and Offer) quote system.
It currently supports:
- Nasdaq-listed companies
- NYSE-listed companies
- Mainstream ETFs
- Popular AI-related stocks
- Growth-oriented tech stocks
This covers more than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETF products. Common names include:
- NVIDIA (NVDA)
- Microsoft (MSFT)
- Apple (AAPL)
- Tesla (TSLA)
- Amazon (AMZN)
- Meta (META)
- QQQ ETF
- SPY ETF
Safety
According to information disclosed by BIT, its U.S. stock business uses a compliant structure commonly adopted in the international brokerage industry.
BIT does not custody customer stocks itself
This is very important. Many people assume: “If I buy U.S. stocks on BIT, are those shares held by BIT?” In fact, no. BIT itself is primarily responsible for:
- Account opening
- The trading interface
- Customer service
- Account management
The U.S. stock assets and cash assets purchased by users are actually held within the system of licensed U.S. clearing institutions and broker-dealers.
Partner institutions are regulated by the U.S. SEC and FINRA
According to official disclosures, current partner institutions include:
- Clear Street
- RQD Clearing
- Atomic Vault Securities (AVS)
These institutions are all:
- Registered with the U.S. SEC
- Regulated by FINRA
- Licensed participants in the U.S. securities market
Relevant information can be searched publicly through the U.S. FINRA BrokerCheck system.
What is the Omnibus IB structure?
BIT’s U.S. stock business uses the Omnibus Introducing Broker model, which is common among international brokers. In simple terms, users see their own individual accounts. But at the U.S. clearing-institution level, all customer assets are aggregated into one large master account for clearing and custody. This model is widely used by:
- International online brokers
- Cross-border securities platforms
- Global brokerages
It does not mean customer assets are being commingled for operational use.
Customer assets are segregated from platform assets
According to the official explanation, under the Omnibus model, customer assets and company assets must be managed separately. BIT is responsible for maintaining user-level:
- Cash records
- Position records
- Trade records
Users can check their assets in the app at any time. In other words, the platform’s operating funds are not directly mixed with customers’ securities assets.
Why Are Crypto Users Starting to Buy U.S. Stocks?
Over the past two years, one very clear trend has emerged:
Many crypto users are now allocating to both:
- BTC
- ETH
- AI-related U.S. stocks
- Nasdaq ETFs
The reason is simple: U.S. technology companies remain among the most profitable and innovative businesses in the world. For long-term investors, holding both digital assets and U.S. equities can provide better global asset allocation.
BIT is tapping into exactly this demand by connecting the crypto world and the traditional securities market within a single account system.
Fees and Comparison
Summary
If you already use Binance, Bybit, or other crypto platforms, BIT’s biggest value is not just its yield products.
Its standout features are:
- Buy U.S. stocks directly with USDT
- Real stock ownership, with U.S. stock licensing
- Support for dividends and shareholder rights
- More than 1000 U.S. stocks and ETFs
- Account opening completed in minutes
For investors who hold BTC, ETH, and stablecoins for the long term, BIT offers a very convenient way to build a globally diversified portfolio. In addition, it currently supports direct KYC account opening with an ID card, which is quite convenient. One point worth noting is that its main entity is in Bhutan, and Bhutan does not have diplomatic relations with China and does not participate in China’s CRS.
