Pixel 8 Buying Guide
Best Buy is currently selling the unlocked Google Pixel 8 for $699 before tax. Purchase link below:
If you have an extra phone on hand, you can use it for a trade-in. Best Buy’s current trade-in values are quite good, and the best deal is trading in an iPhone 11 for a $500 credit.
That brings your final cost to $199 + tax (with tax calculated based on the original $699 price) for the 128GB unlocked Pixel 8 + Pixel Buds Pro (valued at $200) + one month of Microsoft - Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
If you do not have an iPhone 11 to trade in, you can consider getting a refurbished iPhone 11 from TracFone, or using points to buy a brand-new iPhone 11 from TracFone. See this guide for details:
In addition, Metro by T-Mobile and Boost Mobile also sometimes offer very cheap new iPhone 11 deals. If you port in two lines and buy two phones at once, the average out-the-door cost can be around $100-$120 per iPhone 11. See our previous guides here:
- Boost Mobile new iPhone 11 + first month unlimited plan for just $140
- Metro by T-Mobile phone deal: Pixel 6a and Samsung A54 for just $90
After placing your order online, wait until the phone arrives at your local Best Buy store for pickup. Bring your ID and the phone you plan to trade in. After the store staff inspects it and confirms everything is in order, the trade-in credit will be refunded back to the card originally used for payment.
Google store also accepts trade-ins, but the values are a bit lower than Best Buy. For example, an iPhone 11 trade-in only gets a $400 credit there. However, if you have the 2TB Google one membership, you can get 10% ($70) back in Google store credits. It may be worth waiting until this can be stacked with a Superfan code.
