Many of the benefit details can already be seen through browser cache. Here’s what we know so far.
- $99 annual fee card: $99 annual fee, which is a pretty standard price point
- 40,000 miles after $3,000 in spend: 40,000-mile welcome bonus, not bad
- Silver status: complimentary Silver status upon approval
- 10% discount on some cash bookings: 10% off certain cash bookings; I’m guessing this is only valid on Avianca-operated flights
- Earn 3x on Avianca purchases: 3x back on Avianca purchases
- $0 foreign transaction fees: a standard benefit
To be honest, this card really is not very compelling. For example, the Wells Fargo Autograph card transfers to Avianca at 1:1, and its 3x on travel already covers the main earning advantage of this co-branded card.

Avianca LifeMiles plans to launch two new credit cards in the near future, and you can now join the waitlist for both cards. These two cards will run on the AMEX network and be issued by Cardless. Based on the information currently available, the more basic version will have a $99 annual fee, while the premium version will have a $249 annual fee.
If you join the waitlist for these two cards and are successfully approved, you will receive an extra 5,000 to 10,000 miles with no additional minimum spending requirement. This is on top of the standard welcome bonus.
