Porting numbers has been covered many times before, so I won’t repeat the basics here. If you’re not familiar with it, see these earlier posts:

Here I’ll mainly cover the AT&T port-in offer. The offer page is below:
Offer Details
OFFER: Bring your own device, add a new line, and move your number to get a $250 reward card. Instructions to redeem card will be emailed after 45 days of active service.
Online exclusive.
$30 activation fee waived online。
Things to Note
- AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM networks, so if you want to bring your own phone, make sure to check whether your device is compatible with the network. Carrier websites usually provide an IMEI check so users can see whether their phone is compatible.
- Bring-your-own-device eligibility is limited to smartphones; tablets with SIM card slots are not eligible.
- For orders placed after May 14, you can port up to two numbers and receive two $250 Visa gift cards.
- The AT&T account created through the port-in must remain active for more than 45 days (you need to pay for at least two months of service) .
- The port-in plan is a postpaid plan. There is usually an activation fee in the first month, but this offer waives it. A credit check is required; AT&T’s credit inquiry is now only a soft pull, not a hard pull, so you don’t need to worry about it affecting your credit report.
- The number being ported must be a non-AT&T number. Existing AT&T numbers are not eligible for this offer. MVNOs that use the AT&T network are also not eligible, mainly including Consumer Cellular, Cricket, FreedomPop, H2O Wireless, Red Pocket, Straight Talk, TracFone, and so on.
How to Maximize the Offer
You can follow the earlier posts for the step-by-step process; not much has changed. TopCashback is currently offering double cashback and there are only 2 days left, so now is the best time to take advantage of this offer. The TopCashback double cashback link is below:
Before using a cashback site, read the terms carefully. For example, Rakuten’s Exclusions terms clearly state that the $250 gift card promotion is excluded. Here I recommend using TCB. If you don’t already have a TCB cashback account, feel free to sign up using the TopCashback referral link. TCB has been offering double cashback these past few days, and AT&T port-in pays $150 per number. It’s best to add the two lines separately so the cashback can be tracked properly.
Now many users have received AT&T offers from Chase/BoA: spend at least two transactions of $15 or more to get $35 back. Since this plan is a postpaid plan, it can trigger the offer; note that prepaid plans do not qualify.
The cheapest plan right now is the 4GB data plan. With Autopay, the monthly fee is $50. If you open two lines and keep them for two months, AT&T gives two $250 gift cards and TCB gives $300 back, while your own cost is only around $200, so you can come out ahead by $600. If you combine this with Chase/BoA’s AT&T offer and the FAN discount, you can earn even more. Note that edu student email addresses and AARP members can get the FAN Discount. AARP members can also come out ahead through Chase offers and Swagbucks. See:
Also, if you’re already an AT&T wireless customer, your plan cost can be even lower. In my case, I already had one line, and after adding two more lines, the plan is $40 per month.
If you don’t plan to keep it long term, you can close the account once the rewards have posted. Generally, after one month (30-35 days) , you can contact AT&T customer service to request the reward. TCB rewards are slower and usually take about 14 weeks. If you’ve done this promotion before and later closed the account, you can still do it again. Reopening counts as a new customer, so you can still get two gift cards. In short, this offer is definitely a sure win. Don’t miss the limited-time double cashback.
