American Express announced that its Membership Rewards program will stop allowing transfers to Etihad Airways effective June 30, 2026. This is a complete cancellation of the partnership, not a change like Emirates, which only reduced the transfer ratio.
For now, Capital One, Bilt, and Citi ThankYou still allow 1:1 transfers to Etihad Airways, and sometimes offer transfer bonuses. The industry is watching to see whether other flexible-point programs will follow and end their Etihad transfer partnerships as well.
