Some personal cardholders have also received Customer Appreciation Credits:

  • Delta SkyMiles Reserve ($550 annual fee) – $100 statement credit
  • Delta SkyMiles Platinum ($250 annual fee) – $50 statement credit

According to DOC, many users have received emails from AMEX saying that AMEX will offer Customer Appreciation Credits on business credit cards, essentially giving cardholders some credit to help offset this year’s annual fee. Some users can also see it after logging into their accounts. This benefit should apply to users whose cards renew between May 1 and December 31. The credits are as follows:

  • Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business ($550 annual fee) – $125 annual fee credit
  • Delta Platinum Business ($250 annual fee) – $75 annual fee credit
  • Marriott Bonvoy Business ($125 annual fee) – $50 annual fee credit
  • Hilton Business ($95 annual fee) – $50 annual fee credit
  • Platinum Business ($595 annual fee) – $200 annual fee credit
  • Centurion Business -$1,500 annual fee credit

For the $200 credit on the AMEX Platinum Business, we were able to find the official link. For the other cards, there are no official links for now, so it is still unclear whether this is available to everyone or only a targeted offer.

One especially important detail: the Platinum Business terms specifically say that if you cancel the card or downgrade/upgrade it within 45 days after the renewal month, you will not receive this credit. If you cancel after 45 days, AMEX does not need to refund the annual fee; however, downgrades are still prorated. So if you really want to close the card, we strongly suggest downgrading first and then closing it.

Eligible Business Platinum Card Members as determined by American Express in its sole discretion, will be eligible to receive a one-time $200 statement credit after Card renewal. The statement credit will be applied to the eligible card account within 8-12 weeks of the account renewal month. This statement credit is limited to Basic (not Additional) Card Members only. Offer is non-transferable. If the eligible Business Platinum Card is cancelled, or you have downgraded or upgraded your Card up to 45 days after the first day of your renewal month, you will not receive the one-time $200 statement credit.
