【Updated 2023.10】This event is now live, and a batch of gift card deals has been released. There are also some other new deals on the event page, so take a look.

About

Amazon has announced that it will hold its Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event on October 10 and 11. This is basically an early push to get everyone spending right as the holiday shopping season begins. So far, only part of the event has been announced, and we’ll go over the details below.

Prime Day-related offers are only available to Amazon Prime members. A full Prime membership costs $139/year, or you can pay $14.99/month instead (monthly members can also participate directly in Prime Day promotions). If you do not currently have a membership, here are a few ways to get one:

In addition, if a family member or friend has Prime, they may be able to share their membership with you, which would also let you participate in Prime Day offers. See:

Discount deals

Most of the major deals will probably go live on those two days, but some Prime-only discounts are already available now.

Get $15 from Amazon Photos

If you try the free Amazon Photos service now, you can get a free $15 credit. This credit can only be used during Prime Big Deal Day (October 10-11). If you have never done this before, it may be worth trying. If you are worried about privacy, you can just upload any photo, make sure the credit posts, and then turn off the service afterward.

Free 4 months of Amazon Music

Along with this event, Amazon Music is also offering 4 free months of membership. If you want to try it out, this is a good chance. If you do not need it afterward, just remember to cancel online.

Amazon co-branded card discounts

If you have an Amazon co-branded card, you may also be able to get an extra 10% back or other discounts.
