Alipay now supports adding AMEX cards; transactions under ¥200 are still fee-free

Based on reports from readers, you can now add an AMEX card to Alipay for payments.

After adding the card, testing shows that payments under ¥200 are likewise fee-free.

However, the first time you use the card, it will trigger a review. You need to upload information from the front of the card to unlock the payment function. It’s recommended to complete this verification before heading out to use it.

The required upload information is shown below.

After uploading, you can wait for the review.

Once approved, you will receive a message notification, and then you can pay normally.

If it only earns 1x rewards, the value is limited. It may be worth testing whether other AMEX cards can earn bonus rewards.
