Many readers are probably familiar with online grocery store Weee. The company recently confirmed that it suffered a data breach that exposed information belonging to 1.1 million customers. The breach affected customers who placed orders between July 12, 2021 and July 12, 2022. According to reports, a threat actor named IntelBroker posted the stolen data on hacking and data-breach forums. Although IntelBroker claimed to have stolen a database covering 11 million customers, the database reportedly contained only 1.1 million unique email addresses. Reports also say that Weee has notified its customers about the incident and will directly contact any customers whose information was exposed in the breach.

My guess is that if the issue is serious enough, related class-action lawsuits will likely follow soon, and we will keep tracking this.
