Walmart has agreed to a $45,000,000 class action settlement over allegations that some weighted goods purchased by Walmart customers, including meat and certain citrus products, were labeled with weights higher than their actual weight, resulting in overcharges.
The settlement covers anyone who purchased eligible weighted goods and bagged citrus at a Walmart retail store between October 19, 2018 and January 19, 2024. “Weighted goods” refers to meat, poultry, pork, and seafood products sold with barcode labels, while “bagged citrus” refers to organic oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, and navel oranges sold in mesh or plastic bags. According to the plaintiffs, Walmart mislabeled the weight of these discounted, price-reduced products as higher than their actual weight, misleading consumers when the items were sold by weight and marked down with discount labels.

- June 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time: Final approval hearing
Receipt Requirement
If you cannot provide receipts, the amount you receive may be lower. You can upload your Walmart receipts in the claim form. If you cannot find your receipts, you may want to check the order page on the Walmart website, where receipts for purchases made with Walmart Pay may be available.
