You need either a new line (for new customers) or an upgrade (for existing customers), and you must choose a Verizon or AT&T postpaid plan. Since this is a postpaid plan, it will involve a soft pull on your credit. Also note that the offer defaults to 36 monthly installment payments, not a contract phone. If you want to unlock the phone, you can pay it off early and it can be unlocked after 60 days of use. Many users currently have AT&T offers on their Citi/BoA/Chase/Wells Fargo cards, which can stack nicely with this deal.
