After 12/31/2019, Concierge will no longer have access to your itinerary and you will need to contact the airlines directly for assistance.
Today, a friend tried to book airfare through the Chase Ritz Carlton $100 air benefit, but got an Error. After checking into it, I found that this benefit was quietly discontinued on December 31, 2019!
According to the announcement, tickets that were already booked are not affected. However, if you want to make changes to an existing booking, you can only contact the airline directly. It’s unclear whether the $100 off can still be applied. My guess is that changing the ticket would just require paying the fare difference, so in theory it shouldn’t affect the $100 off.
Cards that previously offered this benefit included Chase Ritz Carlton and CNB Crystal, which were major highlights of both cards. Now that it has been suddenly removed, that’s really pretty disappointing. If you previously upgraded or kept the Ritz card just for this benefit, you may want to reconsider. And CNB Crystal has also cut back benefits by eliminating reimbursement for authorized users, so its advantages are no longer very significant.
