There is currently a pretty good discount on round-trip cash tickets from the U.S. to Japan. If booking an award ticket, you only need 25,000 miles for a one-way economy ticket. This can be a great deal if it works for you, although economy class between the U.S. and Japan is still quite tiring...

Eligible Japan airports are: Tokyo Haneda (HND), Osaka (KIX), and Tokyo Narita (NRT). Travel dates are April 1–May 14, and June 24–September 30.
