If you have a UA credit card, you get two one-time pass vouchers each year that can be used for single-entry access to a UA lounge. Starting May 1, 2025, there are three negative changes to this pass:
- You can only enter the lounge within 3 hours before departure at your origin airport. If you are connecting, there is no time limit.
- The pass cannot be used to enter UA Fly lounges.
- The pass can only be used by the cardholder or an authorized user. If anyone else wants to use it, they must enter together with the primary cardholder or authorized user.
In the past, these one-time passes could be resold pretty freely, usually for about $10 each. With this new restriction, they can’t really be sold casually anymore... Now the pass is electronic, and if UA really enforces this restriction and trains the front-desk staff well, then using it for someone else will basically be a no-go.
