At today’s regular press conference held by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Mao Ning announced that, in order to further facilitate travel between Chinese and foreign personnel and under the principles of being science-based, precise, safe, and orderly, China will further optimize its pre-departure testing arrangements.
Starting April 29, all travelers to China may use an antigen test taken within 48 hours before boarding instead of a PCR test, and airlines will no longer check pre-departure test certificates.
Detailed guidance was released afterward.
