If you lived in California at any time between December 3, 2016 and October 31, 2024, take note: you may be eligible for compensation from a $27.5 million class action settlement. Payments can be sent via Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or bank Direct Deposit, which makes claiming very convenient.
This class action was brought against Thomson Reuters. In the lawsuit, current and former California residents allege that Thomson Reuters sold residents’ information through its CLEAR product. Thomson Reuters denies these allegations.
It is estimated that, after you submit a claim form, you may receive between $19 and $48, depending on the total number of claims filed.
If you qualify, you can submit a claim form by December 6, 2024. The deadline to object to or opt out of the settlement is also December 6, 2024. In addition, the final approval hearing is scheduled for February 13, 2025. Even if you do nothing, you will still be bound by the terms of the settlement.
