Recently, the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) fined TD Bank because inaccurate credit reporting by the bank affected some customers’ credit records. The fine totals $20 million, and the bank will also pay $8 million in compensation to tens of thousands of affected customers. According to the PDF document, each affected person will receive $150 in compensation.
The bank or the CFPB will send notices to affected individuals, or you may receive a check. It’s a good idea to make sure the bank has your current address, phone number, and email in case it needs to contact you.
