I came across an interesting piece of news today: Taco Dell was fined $85,500 for violating California’s gift card cash-out rules. Specifically, California law says that gift cards with a balance under $10 can be redeemed for cash, but they refused to do so.
In addition to the fine, they were also required to add notices about cash redemption online and in stores, and employees must receive related training every year.
