Recently, a few friends had their Swagbucks accounts shut down because they used the Best Buy merchant in Shop through Swagbucks too many times. In fact, Swagbucks already makes this clear in the Best Buy cashback terms: if you buy multiple computers through its shopping portal, your account may be closed.
What’s interesting is that although this restriction had been there for a while, Swagbucks did not enforce it before, and people could still earn cashback even after buying more than 3 computers. But since the pandemic started, cashback for more than 3 computers has been getting denied. If you keep making these purchases, it may lead to an account shutdown. Personally, I think this is mainly because Best Buy has tightened its fraud/risk controls. You can see that Best Buy has removed cashback from almost all shopping portals, and it has also increased scrutiny on Swagbucks cashback. It seems that with earning money getting harder outside, they’ve started cracking down on loopholes internally.
Please note: if your account is shut down for this reason, Swagbucks will not reopen it. So if you’ve done something similar, it’s probably a good idea to redeem all the SB in your account as soon as possible.
