[Updated 2020.5] Swagbucks currently has an excellent offer on Gobble for first-time orders: $36 for 3 dinner meals for 2 people, plus 3500SB back. That works out to basically getting 6 meals for free and even coming out $1 ahead. Note that you must complete orders for at least 2 boxes within 45 days of signing up, and you must keep the subscription active for at least 45 days after signup (you can just skip the later deliveries). The SB earned will pend for 45 days.

About This Deal

Swagbucks currently has a great offer on Gobble for first-time orders: $36 for 3 dinner meals for 2 people, plus 3500-5000SB back. It has already been around for almost 2 weeks, so if you're interested, don't wait too long.

Step-by-Step

[Important] Before you start, it's best to turn off all ad blockers and restart your browser. Or use a browser that has never had this type of extension installed. Otherwise, your order may fail to track.

  • Sign up for Swagbucks: Swagbucks signup link (get 300SB for signing up, credited at the beginning of next month)
  • After going through the Swagbucks page, you can find it under Discover deal, or just search for Gobble directly.
  • Go to the Gobble registration page for this deal. Note that this deal is only valid for the 2-person, 3-dinner-per-week option, and fortunately those are the default selections. When signing up, just keep the default options (2-person dinners). After registration, the Gobble page will also default to 3 dinners per week.
  • There is also a restriction in the terms that you cannot cancel within 45 days. Gobble delivers once a week, so the best strategy is to confirm your first delivery date and menu, then skip all the following weeks, and cancel the subscription or delete the account after 40 days. Note that you may only be able to Skip 3-4 weeks at a time, so remember to log back in after 2 or 3 weeks and skip again. You need to Skip the following week's delivery at least 1 week and 1 day in advance.
  • From the main page, or from the delivery calendar, click See Dinner Menu next to the date.
  • Then click Edit Delivery next to the date.
  • Finally, in the pop-up box, choose Skip this delivery in the lower right corner, select any reason, and confirm. (P.S. The dates in my screenshots don't match; the screenshot below is for canceling the 3/28 delivery.)
  • Although the 5000SB did not show up as pending in my account right away, I received a confirmation email from Swagbucks very quickly, which was reassuring.

Gobble Review

Through Swagbucks, I've tried several similar meal-kit delivery services, and Gobble has been my favorite so far.

Delivery

It arrived in the morning on the scheduled delivery date. The box was quite sturdy, with an orange-and-red design, plus the usual insulation liner and ice packs. I brought it inside right away after it arrived, so I can't really say how well it would have stayed cold until the evening.

Ingredient Freshness

What impressed me most about Gobble was the freshness of the ingredients, especially the green vegetables. The spinach I received was honestly even better than what I usually pick out myself at the grocery store (I usually buy from Costco, and the freshness can be questionable; I always have to sort through it before eating, ε= (´ο`*) ))). Every leaf was open and vibrant green, which was especially impressive. I wasn't planning to write a review when I made the first fish dish (with spinach on the side), so instead here's a picture of the beans—they were also very fresh.

Packaging

The vegetables, seasonings, and other ingredients were packaged by meal, while the meat was packaged separately. One thing I really liked was the seasoning packaging: they used fully reusable little bottles, which felt very clean, and I didn't have to worry about touching sauce while squeezing packets.

Ease of Cooking and Taste

The meals were very easy to prepare by following the recipe cards. That said, the recipes often assume you do multiple things at once—for example, pan-searing fish while potatoes are roasting—so even though the listed total cook time was 15 minutes, it usually took me about 20-25 minutes. If you read through the recipe first and work efficiently, finishing in 15 minutes probably isn't too hard. Cleanup was also convenient; in the end I basically only needed to wash the pan.

As for the finished result and taste, the dishes turned out very close to the photos. Even though I was just casually cooking, they still looked like something from a nice Western restaurant, which says a lot about the recipe design and ingredient pairings.

This fish was called Barramundi. I looked it up and found that it's a common edible fish in Australia. It tasted great, and if I see it at the grocery store next time, I would definitely buy it.

For this lasagna sauce, the recipe said to simmer it covered, but I thought there was a bit too much liquid, so I uncovered it and cooked it for 2 more minutes until it reduced completely. Clearly, if you're not very skilled, you shouldn't improvise too much—but the flavor was still right.

Bottom Line

Very satisfied. This deal is genuinely excellent, and I really recommend giving it a try.
