Los Angeles International Airport’s Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) is the main terminal for international departure flights and houses many international carriers, so it also has a number of high-quality lounges. Star Alliance Lounge Los Angeles
As the lounge shared by all Star Alliance airlines at TBIT, this lounge serves as the showcase for LAX’s Star Alliance operations.
After passing security at TBIT, just go up to the 3rd floor and you should be able to find the lounge entrance easily.
This lounge won the SkyTrax Best Lounge award in both 2015 and 2016. It is operated by Air New Zealand.
Who Can Enter the Lounge?
As a standard Star Alliance lounge, entry is free if you are:
- A business-class or first-class passenger on a Star Alliance flight (with one guest);
- A Star Alliance Gold member (*G) with one guest; or
- A United Club or Maple Leaf Lounge member.

Dining
As a food lover, this is where we start, so we focused on what’s available for lunch when we arrived.
Behind the food counter is a full wall of wine, and the presentation itself is fairly creative, too.
The main choices were chicken wraps and standard salad-bar vegetables.
There were also chips, a classic U.S. standby snack. I, of course, didn’t want to waste precious stomach space on those.

Fruit and juice selections were quite extensive, and portions were generous. There were also cup-shaped cheesecake options. The fruit was quite fresh, with no sign of long-standing, neglected fruit that some lounges have.

The beverage station and alcohol selection were complete.
Noodle Bar
If you think that’s all the food on offer, you’d miss one of the lounge’s most important spots: the Noodle Bar. The noodle bar is tucked into a small corner of the dining area, so it’s easy to overlook if you’re not paying attention.
There are two noodle options: Vietnamese noodles or ramen.
You can add chicken or other vegetables as you like.
Once broth is added, it turns into a full bowl of noodles.
It looked fairly plain because I didn’t add many toppings, but the taste was still quite good.

The lounge is spacious, and there are seats all over.

Inside the terminal, the lounge has a small platform with a direct view outside.
The sofas inside the lounge are also quite roomy.

Like the United Club, this lounge also has an outdoor open-air platform where you can watch aircraft from outside.

There is also a water curtain wall, which gives a very elegant vibe.

On the wall in the hallway leading to the outdoor platform, there is also a Bill Gates quote.

There is also an AV room inside the lounge, though I couldn’t tell what was playing in it.

Conclusion
Overall, the Star Alliance Los Angeles Lounge is a good size, spacious on the inside, and its food options are quite good compared with other U.S. airport lounges. If you have time to spend in it, it should be a choice that does not disappoint.
